A film in three weeks
Hero Simulator is a short animated film made alongside my friend Finja Behmer.
We created this project during our fourth semester at university in our Motion Design Basics course. In this course we learned different motion design techniques, and for our final project, we had three weeks to make a film under the loose topic of "Everyday Hero".
We reused a few aspects from our previous assignments in this animation. Finja created the candle during our tracking assignment, and I used the spider's voice line from our masking assignment.
The following shows my part of the assignment.
Start and End Screen

We decided on a 4:3 screen width to emulate older video games.
Flame Attack
The flame attack was animated frame by frame for a more controlled and stylized approach.
Background

The entire film has only one looping background to avoid unnecessary jump cuts.
