Designing a Radio Brand

INFOS
„UTC12 Radio“ is a graphic design project created during my winter semester of 2025/2026.
This project was made during my 5th semester graphic design class taught by Thomas Klefisch. We were tasked to create a brand identity for a podcast or radio station.
UTC12 is a radio station that broadcasts music from around the world. Whichever countries are experiencing 12 o’clock noon will have their music played for the next hour. So, if it is 12 p.m. in Germany, the station might play German music, but also French, Swedish, Moroccan, Nigerian music, and more. As soon as it turns 1 p.m., the music switches to countries where it is *then* 12 p.m. — for example Ukrainian, Egyptian, South African music, and so on.
This project is a bit different than my other project. It has nothing to do with character design or animation, but good ol' graphic design. To say that I was out of my comfort zone would be an understatement.
At the beginning, I struggled to find the Leitmotiv that would tie the entire project together. I had too many colors and no real boundaries. However, once I established a consistent color palette, typography, and visual shapes, designing the branding for this radio station became genuinely fun.
