An analog Loop

The Girl and The Sword is a short animation loop that is made using cel animation.

The Girl and The Sword is a short animation loop that is made using cel animation.

I created this project during my fourth semester at university under the guidance of Tim Dübbert. The aim of the film course was to create a looping animation using analog animation techniques.

This project was done during my 4th semester at university under the guidance of the film instructor Tim Dübbert.

This animation consists of over 60 individually painted frames. I chose to work with traditional cel animation, painting each frame by hand.

Penelopes Character Design

I developed the short animation around Penelope, an established character from my sketchbook, as her existing personality and design provided a foundation for developing the story.

This project was done during my 4th semester at university under the guidance of the film instructor Tim Dübbert.
